Daily Green Smoothie

This smoothie is incredibly healthy, delicious, and will make your skin glow! I have been eating it and experimenting with the recipe every day for at least a year now.  I enjoy loading it with vegetables because the taste gets lost among the fruit, peanut butter, and cocoa powder.  It tastes earthy and healthy--think banana mixed with berries, cocoa, and peanut butter, with vegetable undertones.

Baby Bok Choy with Crispy Shallots and Sesame Seeds

Shallots, ginger, mirin, and soy sauce add terrific flavor to this preparation of bok choy.  It's one of my favorite vegetable recipes.  Plus, it doesn't take long to prepare.  Try it--you won't be disappointed!

Eco-Cup Reusable Mug

I love this porcelain coffee mug with silicone sleeve and lid!  I bring it with me to Starbucks for my daily soy latte and it has performed wonderfully.  I purchased this one from

The cup is well constructed with a snug fitting lid.  It also has a nice weight and feels good in my hand.  I like that it is the same design as the paper cup from Starbucks--it just works well for consuming hot drinks.

Chaco Canyon Organic Cafe

Back in June, while visiting Seattle, I convinced my husband and sister to go out of our way to eat at Chaco Canyon Organic Cafe in the University District. I recommend giving this place a try if you are in the Seattle area! They have a nice selection of plant-based and raw entrees, as well as smoothies and fresh juices.

Simple Chicago Sunshine Smoothie

(takes 5 minutes to prepare)

The Chi is throwing some crazy weather our way. The one thing that seems to be a constant is the heat!

Cool down with this incredibly nutritious--and sinfully delicious--smoothie.

1 whole banana
1 cupful of spinach (or more, if you dare!)
5 frozen strawberries
2 heaping tbsps of creamy natural peanut butter (I use Arrowhead Mills' Organic PB-Valencia peanuts are heaven!)
1/4 cup of cold water

Blend until smooth and frothy. Throw an orange slice on top-for flair.

This makes a great breakfast and a satisfying dessert.

Dessert for breakfast?-heck yes!
